about

Mnèmonica

Marco Colonna : clarinet, bass clarinet, loop station.

"Combattere l'astrattezza del linguaggio che ci viene imposto, con delle cose molto precise. Sapere che tutto quello che abbiamo ci può essere tolto da un momento all'altro. Certo, goderlo: non dico mica di rinunciare a nulla, anzi. Però sapendo che da un momento all'altro tutto quello che abbiamo può sparire in una nuvola di fumo."

Italo Calvino

A collection of memories, projected in a crystal and performed as a live concert. A collection of songs I love very much, as I feel in my dreams.
Thomas Chapin maybe was one of the last great jazzman, John Surman always an inspiration, polyphonic singers of Sardinia and Corsica are the heritage of my mediterranean birth, Pearl Jam the music I listened in my teen age, Blues and Gospel are the strongest part of my sensibility, intellectual approach of John Carter always a point of departure. Pee Wee Russel is the sound of the jazz clarinet for me and Albert Ayler the sound of a enlightened soul. Jim Pepper is one of the most powerful, mystic and natural sound I ever met. His Wichi Tai to is a reminder to me, to not cut off my spirit from my mind.
I need an orchestral prospective. And loop station is an opportunity I had visited in my recent past (FILI could be intend as my best interpretation of it). I don't like the loop itself, I like listening my instrument as part of a mirror where I can see different part of my self.
